TecHost provides web hosting to a large number of clients. We have a responsibility to protect each client and
provide the best services available. The following guidelines have been established to ensure this intent is met.
These terms may be modified at any time and without notice. All users previous and new are always subject to the
newest terms posted here at all times.
Content :
All services provided by TecHost may be used for lawful purposes only. Transmission, storage, or presentation
of any information, data or material in violation of any United States Federal, State or City law, and the relevant laws
within the United Kingdom and that of the European Community (EU), Asiatic and Australian law is prohibited.
This includes, but is not limited to: copyrighted material, material we judge to be threatening or obscene, or material
protected by trade or national secrets and other statutes. TecHost is not responsible for any claims resulting from the
use of our service. This is also true for sites that promote any illegal activity or content that may be damaging to
TecHost servers or any other server on the internet. Links to such materials are prohibited. This also includes,
but not limited to Adult sites, pirated software, hacker programs/archives, MP3, and Warez sites.
Programs :
We do not allow programs to run continually in the background. This is to minimize system resources used and
operational maintenance needed. We do not allow any chat or topsite programs on our servers other than the ones
we pre-install for our clients to use. IRC: We currently DO NOT allow IRC or IRC bots to be operated on our
servers.
Commercial Advertising- Email (SPAM) :
Spamming, or the sending of unsolicited email, from a TecHost server or using an email address that is maintained
by TecHost or its Network is STRICTLY prohibited and will qualify your site for immediate deactivation with no
refund. Account holders paying by monthly payments will have there account terminated and the full balance of the
contract period (12 months) or balance thereof will be charged to the customers credit card. TecHost will be the
sole arbiter as to what constitutes a violation of this provision. Additionally claims investigated by TecHost
about spam from any of our users or users of theirs, will be billed for such work. The fee for such an instance if
you are found to be at fault is €0.50 per email sent and up to a €350 billing per incident.
Server abuse :
Any attempts to undermine or cause harm to any TecHost server or customer of TecHost is strictly prohibited.
TecHost holds no responsibility for the use of our clients' accounts. Any account the abuses resources and
actions are not taken to desist, calls for immediate de-activation without any refund of payments made thus
far. Any site using what we deem to be using excessive cpu cycles or any resources that cause strain to other
sites may also be offered new terms.
Bandwidth :
We do not allow programs to run continually in the background. All sites hosted by TecHost have the privilege of
unthrottled bandwidth. This means your site is placed on our ultra fast servers and connected to multiple backbones
which allow a user to surf your site at unrestricted speeds. You are not penalized for the high bandwidth web surfer
that creates high traffic spikes. If your sites monthly usage is above your monthly total allotment you will be asked
to upgrade to the next package. We will work with clients to keep their sites alive and fast at all times. Account/Web
site hits are unmetered, which means you can have an unlimited amount of hits to your site within your bandwidth.
Back-ups :
TecHost performs daily backups on all of our servers. Our server software does create daily backups for users
sites that you may download on your own from within your Control Panel, we do not restore a file any user has
accidentally deleted or modified. The back-up restoration is for emergency procedures only and is not guaranteed.
You are strongly advised to backup all of your own files to your local drive. TecHost cannot and will not be responsible
for lost data, time, income or any other resource due to faulty backups or non-existent back-ups.
Billing :
Payments are due on the anniversary of your sign up date either monthly or yearly depending on whatever payment
method you choose. For example, if you signed up on the 25th of January 2004 and you selected a monthly payment
method, then you can expect the next monthly charge to be made on the 25th February 2004 and every month
thereafter on the same date. All renewals are automatically re-occurring, monthly or yearly unless we are
unable to process your credit card details. FREE HOSTING PERIOD OFFERS are valid for new customers only and the free period is offered for the first year only. Accounts 5 days past due where we have been unsuccessful at
processing your credit card payment (credit card record on account) will be de-activated. You will be notified
by e-mail if we are having problems processing your payment. Your Accounts 10 days past due will be deleted
from the server without a refund of any payments made thus far. If any terms or conditions are failed to be
followed the account in question will be automatically deactivated. When you register a new domain through
TecHost we will register the domain on your behalf and YOU will be the registered owner and charged the
standing authority fee prevailing at the time. We always keep a published domain cost rate on our web site.
No refund will be made under any circumstances for domain names registered on behalf of clients as the client
will remain the owner. We will however re-point domains on customers or ex-customers behalf that are under
our authority if no outstanding balance or funds are outstanding to TecHost.
Cancellation :
All cancellations must be sent to sales@techost.co.uk, or by filling out the appropriate cancellation form.
While there are no cancellation fees, you must cancel prior to your next billing cycle. Payments made up to
your cancellation date are not refundable unless your cancelling within the 30 day guarantee period .
This does not include any added support or service fees your contracted us to provide, such as domain name,
extra web space, extra subdomain etc etc. We reserve the right to remove any account without advanced notice
for any reason at any time without prior notice.
Refusal of Service:
We reserve the right to refuse, cancel, or suspend service at our sole discretion at any time.
